🌿 SWONA May Update: Garage Sale, Meetings & More!
Ready for garage sale season? See what SWONA has planned and how you can get involved.
From Zach, your friendly neighborhood Outreach Coordinator
Hey neighbors!
We’ve got a lot cooking this spring, so here’s your roundup of all things SWONA:
📅 Upcoming Meetings
Mini-Meeting #1:
🗓 Tuesday, May 13th at 6:30 pm
📍 Gloria Dei Lutheran Church (1515 Harrison Ave NW)
Come by, say hi, and catch up on what’s happening in the neighborhood!
Mini-Meeting #2:
🗓 Wednesday, June 18th at 7:00 pm (location TBD)
We’ll be finalizing details for the Annual SWONA Neighborhood Garage Sale — you don’t want to miss this one!
2nd Quarterly Meeting:
🗓 Thursday, June 26th at 6:30 pm
📍 Gloria Dei Lutheran Church
A great chance to hear updates, share your ideas, and keep SWONA moving forward.
🛍 Annual SWONA Neighborhood Garage Sale
Get ready: June 21–22 is the big weekend!
We still need volunteers for various roles — and if you want to participate with your own garage sale, let us know. It’s a great way to clear out your attic and meet the neighbors (plus, who doesn’t love a little bargain hunting?).
🏆 Grant Updates
We’ve got some momentum on both the City Neighborhood Grant and the ThurstonCSF Grant — just a few more hoops to jump through, but things are looking promising. These funds will help boost our emergency preparedness efforts. Exciting times!
💬 Stay Connected — Join the SWONA WhatsApp Group!
We’ve created a WhatsApp group to keep the neighborhood looped in. Want to join? Just share your phone number with any board member, and we’ll invite you in. Not familiar with WhatsApp? No worries — we’re happy to help! We can do an in person training at the next meeting (Or check out this quick video guide:
